Wildlife-friendly farmers in the county are being urged by the RSPB to showcase their skills.
The RSPB’s Nature of Farming Award rewards farmers who grow food and manage their land to help birds and wildlife.
£2,400 is up for grabs for seven regional champions across the UK and the overall winner of the award being presented in July.
Judges are on the look out for well-managed hedgerows, seed-rich grasslands, ‘beetle banks’, bird nesting sites and much more.
The deadline for entries is 31 March.
Farmers can enter using an online form at www.rspb.org.uk/farming or get details by emailing nature-farming@rspb.org.uk
Kirsty Brannan, RSPB farm advisor said: “Farms are havens for some of the finest birds and wildlife.
“We are keen to flag up the work farmers are doing to keep the countryside alive with wild colour, movement and song.”
