Since the announcement by the Welsh Assembly Government earlier this month that there is to be a badger cull in Wales four badgers have been found dead in Pembrokeshire.
The controversial cull is to form part of a pilot scheme to help wipe out tuberculosis in cattle. Details of the cull, including the location have not yet been announced but there are now fears that some farmers may have set about an illegal cull.
The RSPCA is investigating the suspicious badger deaths and urges the public to help with the inquiry. Despite the planned cull, which will be licensed and monitored, badgers are still a protected species and killing them in this way is illegal.
Anyone who may have information about the incident may contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999. Calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
