A rather quick post I am afraid to apologise for the lack of new content and change on the site for the last week. We had planned to go down to the Lee Valley wildlife event last weekend. Unfortuantly, our son became ill on Friday so we couldnt make it. Of course we will to teach him to share but rather wished that he hadn't shared this bug as we have both been poorly all week. On the silver lining front the developers are now in the final stages of finishing the site and the admin functionality and we are told that it will all be ready to go by the end of the week.
We will also hopefully have recovered by this time so will be making up for lost time in the next week or so.
Apologies once again and please keep dropping in to have a look - new content will begin to be added at a much more rapid rate starting next week!
Lorna & Andrew
P.S. Further to the post below we can confirm that the text on the site will be altered with the update at the end of the week to ensure it is easy to read.
Finally after months of hard work from ourselves, our contributors and our web developers we have made it to being live on the web!! Please have a good old nosey and let us know what you think.
We have tried to ensure that everything is working as it should, but if you come across anything that doesn’t please let us know by emailing admin@gbwildlife.co.uk or by posting in the forum.
The search facility (to find wildlife/ nature sites and events) is running with only partial data at the moment, we have a lot more waiting to go in and it won’t be too long before it is in there (within the next few weeks). If you would like to list your site/ attraction or local group in these listing please send an email to advertising@gbwildlife.co.uk
Please come and say hello in the forum so we are not lonely! (15.04.08 - Speaking of which, we have had one or two problems and issues with the forum, if you have tried to sign up and have encountered problems then please let us know email admin@gbwildlife.co.uk )
We hope you enjoy looking around,
Lorna, Andrew and Jack
Alterations since launch (via suggestions gratefully received):
11.04.08 The logo in the banner is now clickable and will return you to the homepage (still needs adding to the forum pages though). Thanks to Graziella Iossa for the suggestion.
12.04.08 What we had thought was a Roman Snail in the news section actually wasn't - that will teach us to rely on image libraries descriptions. Thanks to Colin W. Plant for pointing that out to us!
16.04.08 Is the text on our site too faint or difficult to read? We have setup a poll in our forum, please come along, sign up and let us know what you think. Alternatively you can email us with your thoughts.
