We found out a couple of days ago that we have won 'Website of The Year 2008' from a magazine group. There will be an editorial in 'insight' magazine at the end of August. This came as a total suprise as we weren't even aware we had been nominated.
Thank you to everyone on the forum - you have all been fantastic and very supportive.
We would also like to say a huge thankyou to the website developers DesignWeb based in Sowerby Bridge who were invaluable in creating this site, also to wildlife photographer Laurie Campbell and our resident gardening for wildlife expert David Beeson. Thank you to all of our contributors who have all helped out enormously.
All members of the forum are greatly valued but special thanks must go to Carl and Chocky for all your support and help.
We have been working hard in the background and now have thousands of sites listed with thousands more waiting to be entered (including plenty of events). Over the next few weeks the listings will become huge - we are still waiting on many listings to be sent to us, so we are faced with a daunting task but already in a few short months things have begun to take shape and it is now full steam ahead!
The site has been updated for August now with plenty new articles and a new campaign so please pop over to the home page and have a look around.
you may have noticed that the Eco-living and Blog have been a bit neglected, in all honesty we just have not had time to do these sections but they will be updated regularly again come September.
It takes along time to source, modify and then re-arrange all the data that comes to us so that we can enter it into our database, so although it may appear that not much is going on you'd be suprised!! Please do check out the seach facilities (the big green button on left hand side of front page) and keep checking it over the coming weeks, you'll be amazed at how much will appear in there! Hopefully you'll find places/ events/ groups that are of interest.
Kind Regards
Lorna and Andrew
